No previous diving experience is required. Students must be at least 10 years old, able to swim and comfortable in the water. A completed medical questionnaire and permission from a parent or legal guardian are also required.
The course includes PADI eLearning, one comprehensive pool training session, four open-water training dives, full scuba equipment, instruction from a certified PADI Instructor, DAN dive insurance and PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification upon successful completion.
PADI eLearning allows students to complete the theory online at their own pace before arriving. It covers essential topics including scuba equipment, dive planning, underwater communication, buoyancy and safety. The instructor will review the key information and answer any questions before the practical training begins.
Yes. We keep our groups small so each student receives plenty of personal attention, support and time to build confidence. Group sizes may vary depending on the students’ ages and experience.
Yes, open-water training dives three and four are usually completed at the USAT Liberty Shipwreck in Tulamben. However, the final dive sites may change depending on sea conditions, the student’s age and their comfort level.
The practical training usually takes three days after the PADI eLearning has been completed. However, the schedule can be extended to three or four days depending on the student’s confidence, comfort and progress.
After certification, Junior Open Water Divers can continue diving within the PADI depth and supervision limits for their age. Divers aged 10–11 may dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres with a PADI Professional or certified parent or guardian. Divers aged 12–14 may dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres with a certified adult.
