Overview

Help your child take their first step towards becoming a certified diver with the PADI Junior Scuba Diver course in Nusa Penida.

Designed for children aged 10–14, this entry-level course is a shorter alternative to the full Junior Open Water Diver course. Students complete PADI knowledge development, confined-water training and two open-water training dives with one of our experienced PADI Instructors.

Throughout the course, young divers learn how to use scuba equipment, manage their buoyancy, communicate underwater and follow essential diving and safety procedures. Training is adapted to each child’s confidence and ability, with close supervision and suitable equipment provided.

The course usually takes two to three days. Once certified, Junior Scuba Divers can dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. They can later continue their training and upgrade to the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.

No previous scuba-diving experience is required, but students must have adequate swimming skills, be in good physical health and have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Open-water training sites are selected according to the student’s ability and the day’s sea conditions.
