No previous diving experience or certification is required. The PADI Open Water Diver course is designed for beginners and teaches you the knowledge and practical skills needed to become a safe, confident and internationally certified diver.
The course includes PADI eLearning, confined-water training, four open-water training dives, full diving equipment, tanks and weights, a professional PADI instructor, DAN dive accident insurance, lunch on diving days and your PADI certification upon successful completion.
Your PADI eLearning is included and can be completed online at your own pace before arriving in Nusa Penida. It covers dive theory, equipment, planning, underwater communication and safety. The eLearning should be completed before your practical training begins.
Yes. We keep our Open Water courses in small groups so every student receives personal attention, plenty of time to practise each skill and close supervision from a professional PADI instructor.
When conditions allow, your first two open-water training dives will usually take place at Manta Point and Crystal Bay, giving you the chance to encounter manta rays while completing your course skills. Dive sites depend on sea conditions, safety and student progress, and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
The practical course usually takes three days after completing your PADI eLearning. This includes confined-water training in the pool, followed by four open-water training dives completed over two diving days.
After successfully completing all course requirements, you will receive your internationally recognised PADI Open Water Diver certification. This allows you to dive with a certified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres.
The PADI Open Water Diver course can be offered in English, Chinese, French, Spanish or Indonesian, subject to instructor availability. Please tell us your preferred language when booking so we can arrange the right instructor.
