Meet your freediving instructor, Lance! Our freediving instructor combines a passion for the ocean with years of experience exploring Bali’s underwater world. Originally from China, he specialises in guiding relaxed, safe and enjoyable freediving experiences for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students progressing through AIDA certifications. Alongside freediving instruction, he is also an experienced underwater camera specialist, capturing professional underwater photos and videos so guests can relive their experience long after leaving the water.

Do I need previous freediving experience?

No. Complete beginners can join our AIDA 1 Introduction Course. If you are already certified, you can join our guided freediving sessions and advanced AIDA courses.

Where does the freediving take place?

Training courses are conducted in the calm waters of Jemeluk Bay in Amed. Guided freediving sessions are available in both Amed and Nusa Penida, depending on your experience level and goals.

What equipment is included?

All standard freediving equipment is included, including mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and weight belt. You are also welcome to use your own equipment if preferred.

Can I freedive with manta rays in Nusa Penida?

Yes. Certified freedivers can join guided trips to Nusa Penida where encounters with manta rays are possible year round. Sightings are common but cannot be guaranteed as this is a natural environment.

Which course should I choose?

AIDA 1 is ideal for complete beginners, AIDA 2 is your first certification course, and AIDA 3 is designed for certified freedivers looking to improve depth, technique, equalisation and safety skills.
