Requirements & Safety (PADI Speciality Courses Bali)
To join a PADI Specialty Course with Jukung Dive, you’ll need to complete the standard PADI medical questionnaire before training. If any medical conditions are indicated, a doctor’s clearance may be required. Participants should be comfortable swimmers and feel confident in the water.
Training takes place in Amed and Nusa Penida, with dive sites selected each day based on conditions and safety. You’ll use a dive computer set to your gas mix, follow full instructor briefings, and complete standard buddy checks before every dive. Please allow a minimum no-fly time of 18–24 hours after your final dive.
Dive insurance is strongly recommended for all participants, such as DAN or equivalent coverage.
What are PADI Specialty courses and who are they suitable for?
PADI Specialty courses are designed to help certified divers develop specific skills, build confidence, and explore different styles of diving beyond the basics. They are suitable for Open Water certified divers and above, depending on the specialty. How long do PADI Specialty and combined courses take to complete?
Most PADI Specialty courses take one to two days to complete, depending on the number of dives required and the specialty itself. Combined courses are usually completed over several days, allowing for a relaxed pace with sufficient rest between dives. We always aim to create a flexible schedule that fits your travel plans and ensures a safe, enjoyable learning experience.
Do I need medical clearance or dive insurance for specialty courses?
Before starting any PADI Specialty course, you’ll need to complete the standard PADI medical questionnaire. If the form indicates any medical conditions, a doctor’s clearance may be required. We strongly recommend having valid dive insurance, such as DAN, for all specialty and combined courses. If you have any questions about requirements, our team is happy to assist before you arrive.
What equipment is included in specialty and combined courses?
All standard dive equipment is included in your course, including BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, mask, tanks, and weights. Any additional equipment required for specific specialties, such as torches for night diving, surface marker buoys for drift diving, or Nitrox tanks, is also provided. We recommend bringing your own dive computer if you have one, but rentals are available if needed.
