A description of the divesites in our area in geographical order, from North-East to South-East, shows you how big the variety in local diving-possibilities is.

Monkey Reef or Kubu:
Two completely different shoredives can be made here; the first one to a depth of max. 28 m along a slope that is overgrown with hard corals and big barrel sponges. We normally see lionfish, the moray eel, stonefish and from time to time the bumpheaded parrotfish in groups of 6 to 7 or even 12 to 13.
The white tip reefshark likes to doze in the sandy area. Many other species can be seen.
The second dive is completely different; corals growing on rocks with sandy spots in between. The maximum depth here is +/- 22 m. Two easy dives with normally no current on the first and sometimes a little current on the second dive.

The Tulamben area:

The "Liberty" wreck is an unforgettable shoredive that can be done by divers of all levels. The wreck is close to the beach and is a 120 m long underwater wonder because of the structure itself, the many species of hard and soft corals growing on the hull and the numbers of fish living in- and outside the wreck: barracuda, napoleon wrasse, giant grooper, white tip reef shark, bumpheaded parrotfish, lionfish, sweetlips, scorpion leaf, stone fish, the eelgarden etc. etc. (there are more than 400 different species here)
We normally make 2 dives here; one outside and one "inside" the wreck. There is sometimes a small current.

Batu Kelebit and Alamanda are two sites that can be done with jukungs (the boats). Therefore we go out of the bay where we follow a rocky slope with many species of reef fish. Bump headed parrot fish and octopus can be seen here. On rare occasions a whale shark is spotted here.

The Tulamben drop off

A shoredive that brings you to a huge group of jackfish. Along the wall there are moray eels, octopus, parrotfish and many different reef fishes. Next to that different kinds of sharks can be seen here and smaller species like stonefish, lionfish, nudibranches etc. etc.
A very nice and easy dive with hardly any current.

Coral Garden
A shoredive with a depth between 2 and 20 m, a favourite site for photographers with beautiful hard and soft corals. Morays, nudibranches, small fish and sometimes the white tip and black tip reefshark.

Seraya

A boatdive that starts at 5 m with a maximum of 30 m; on the sandy bottom there is a big variety of smaller species such as seahorse, moray eel, ghost pipe fish, seamoth, harlequin shrimps etc. Favourite spot for photographers.

Amed

A boatdive. Before we reach the first wall, we pass through an area with blue spotted stingrays and an occasional white- or black tip reefshark. Along the wall you will find beautiful and colourful corals (hard and soft) and a breeding area with thousands of small fish.
The maximum depth is +/- 26 m. Sometimes there can be a current.

Jemeluk

Boatdive to two walls that takes 10 mins. to reach the point where we enter the water. We start the dive at the wall, continue while passing many barrel sponges. During the dive we will meet a group of batfish, probably a bumpheaded parrotfish and certainly a garden of gorgonias. After the dive the jukung picks us up again.
The max. depth here can be 26 m and in the beginning we might face a little current.

Bunutan
The jukung brings us to the starting point.
A driftdive that begins at a huge eelgarden; follow the drift and see many sorts of coral, lion fish and moray eels. An extraordinary dive for which some experience is needed.

Japanese shipwreck
A shoredive where you can admire the unspoiled hard and soft corals, the many colours and the small wreck itself which is a breeding ground for fish. The wreck lies in shallow water (5 m). Behind the wreck the "real" dive starts and brings you along a slope with barrel sponges, hardcorals, hiding moray eels and other species.

Gili Selang
A small island at the most eastern tip of Bali. Because of the currents a dive for more experienced divers. Apart from the anemone garden, there is a chance to see turtles, sharks (white tip, black tip and hammerheads) and sometimes the mola-mola.
Gili Selang is a boatdive.
